I had a fantastic time in "Hollywoodland" with Hargo! Even though the other tour participants had to cancel at the last minute because of "Carmageddon," Hargo graciously took me on a private Hollywood Sign Aventure. He is personable and professional and extremely knowledgeable about the geography and natural landscape of the area! Hargo gave a very fun and informative tour, it was amazing to hike around and see all the historic (and not so historic) details of Hollywoodland. We saw many things we could not have seen or appreciated in a typical van tour. I went on the Hollywood Sign Adventure and had a blast. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, because you will be climbing lots and lots and lots of stairs, but it is worth every step. I was afraid that I would feel out of place, taking the tour without a partner. But the groups are small and Hargo puts everyone at ease. You really do bond with the other people in your group, even if it is only to announce an oncoming car. ;) Thoroughly entertaining and informative. A friend and I are trying to decide whether we want to do the Beach or Hidden Treasures Adventure next. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone.

This was an incredibly fun hiking tour of the "Hollywood Land" neighborhood. We hiked through the neighborhood with our guide Hargo as he shared the history of the Hollywood sign, the history of the neighborhood, the architecture, native plants, homes that once housed celebrities or still do & hidden staircases. Our guide Hargo was friendly & full of knowledge and we were pleasantly entertained throughout our 2+ mile hike and would highly recommend this to anybody & everybody.

Hargo was not only knowledgeable about the history of the Hollywood sign, but also in the homes around it and the plant life surrounding the area. In addition, our tour felt comfortable because there was only 2 more people, besides us. That makes it a bit more intimate as we can ask questions without the overwhelming feeling of a big group. Although, we didn't get close to the sign, but we did get some great views of it. Overall, it was an enjoyable trek through the neighborhood around the sign. We would definitely try the other adventures the company has to offer.

This was one of the greatest tours I have been on. The guide was very friendly and kept us going at a perfect pace, giving us time to take pictures and enjoy ourselves. He shared so much information about the local history, the houses, the stairs, the plants...everything! Although we are locals we learned so much about the area. It was absolutely fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone as long as you are physically able to climb lots and lots of the coolest stairs you have ever seen! Walking through these beautiful neighborhoods is a much better way to explore than driving. We were able to see the Hollywood sign much closer than we ever have before and we all had a great time.

Hargobind is an awesome guide. He is very calm, knowledgeable and a pleasure to hike with. My girlfriend was not feeling well at the half way point, and we decided to wait for the rest of the group at our starting point. Hargo offered us that he wouldn't redeem the livingsocial coupon and we can come back. He does this out of his love and passion, and that's what makes the biggest difference. Definitely going for another Adventure.

For my birthday my girlfriend gave me two vouchers so I could take my son on this hike so we could spend some time together before he went off to the Army and Boot camp. It was so amazing and awesome to learn the history behind the Hollywood sign and everything that took place in the neighborhood and the homes. I never thought that my son and I were going to see the things that we saw and more so the hike it self, and I would recommend it to anyone,  its worth it! I have to thank my girlfriend for giving me the best gift ever and I would do it again! I also have to thank Hargo for sharing this wonderful hike and experience.

Have been to L.A. a few times now and have been to Universal/Disney etc, so was apprehensive regarding my 9 year old sons view but didn't need to worry, he really enjoyed himself hunting for fossils, climbing on the rocks and going to the film set out in the hills, no queues here... I loved it, felt safe and well looked after. Bought some wine at the vineyard (VERY GOOD) it impressed my L.A. Friends who didn't even realise there are vineyards here. Also the lunch was great and they thought of everything you might need. Great day and would highly recommend you try this trip.

Our family has visited L.A. many times. After we got past the Hollywood and the Disneyland craze we went on a couple of tours with Hargobind (LA Active Adventures). We had an exciting time on these adventures. One of our most memorable times was when Hargobind took us to a beach where we hiked to the top of a cliff and enjoyed an awesome view of the ocean, got a lot of exercise, and took some amazing pictures. The kids truly enjoyed this trip because throughout the day we were doing something fun while exploring the outdoors and, at the same time, spending quality time as a family. The kids still talk about the baby leopard shark we saw in the tide pools. We would strongly recommend that you give LA Active Adventrues a try if you are looking for a fun adventure while visiting Los Angeles.
